The following visualization study integrated words with natural forms, using the shape of the Tagliamento River to reflect its cultural and geographical significance in the Friuli region. This approach aimed to enhance visual appeal by associating text with a recognizable natural feature, but it encountered readability issues. Words arranged along the river's curves often appeared as continuous text rather than distinct words, necessitating further refinement to improve clarity.

A second visualization merged text with mountain ranges, representing the topography of the Friuli region. Photos of the Carnic, Julian, and Friulian Dolomites Alps were processed in grayscale, and a pixel mask was applied to create a pattern over the images. Although this method effectively highlighted the landscape while incorporating typographic elements, it also presented challenges: the finer the grid used for shading, the more difficult it became to maintain the readability of the text against the complex background.
