This visualization focuses on representing Friulian communities, known as Fogolârs, around the world. These communities have historically served as vital cultural connections for emigrants, linking them to their homeland.

The visualization was designed with a typographic approach, organizing the visual system by continents with Italy, where Friuli is located, as the central point. The visualization then expanded to other countries in chronological order of Fogolâr founding, illustrating the spread of these communities over time. Despite modern communication technologies that keep people connected, the continued importance of Fogolârs is evident, with new ones still being established across various countries.
The total number of Fogolâr is approxiamtely 150, for this reason and beacuse the final animation was mentioned to be short I focused on the name of the countries more than to showcase the actual numbers and positions. More detailed data can be found on “entefriulinelmondo.com”
To keep the animation concise, the visualization was segmented by decade, showing the establishment of Fogolârs in different countries over time. Visually, the countries were connected by simple lines that collectively resembled flowers blooming outward, a symbolic homage to Friulian decorative art, which frequently features floral and plant motifs on domestic ceramics.
