The final output involves the creation of an outdoor installation to bring the Friulian language into public spaces, making it a central focus.
The installation is designed for walking areas in Friuli, with a proposed location in a main thoroughfare of Udine. This placement ensures active engagement with the language, contrasting with the passive exposure
to commercial advertising.
The installation includes graphics and sounds that represent Friulian identity and personal anecdotes related to the language. It is accessible to all, particularly targeting young people, but open to anyone interested in the language.
The project also features audio recordings from community members and a participatory element where visitors can write their favorite Friulian words, taking again the initial question of
“What’s your favourite friulian expression?”
emphasizing emotional connections and community involvement.
This approach highlights the relevance of the Friulian language and encourages deeper cultural engagement.
